Sobre el projecte
This project will improve the existing electric transmission power line to make it more reliable and enhance communication. The work includes replacing older wooden line structures with new steel structures. Two fiber-optic cables will also be added. These cables help our systems communicate more effectively and protect the line from lightning strikes. This project will also repair existing access roads and build new ones where needed.
These improvements will help keep workers safe and make future maintenance easier. All work will take place within or near the existing transmission right-of-way. The project runs through the Massachusetts communities of Ludlow, Palmer, Brimfield, Warren, Brookfield, Sturbridge, and Charlton.

Preparació del lloc
El primer pas és netejar arbres i matolls. Aquesta feina permet a les brigades de construcció construir carreteres d'accés i retirar arbres que podrien caure sobre la línia elèctrica de manera segura.

Controls ambientals
A continuació, es prenen mesures per protegir la zona durant la construcció. Aquestes poden incloure estores, tanques de fang i contenidors de rentat de formigó per a materials de construcció.

Reconstrucció de línies de transmissió
S'instal·len nous fonaments i estructures, juntament amb cables de fibra òptica i nous cables. Es retiren les estructures antigues i es posen en marxa els cables nous. Les brigades utilitzen maquinària pesada, incloses grues.

Restauració
After construction, crews restore the work area and return the ground as close as possible to its original condition. (Unless otherwise specified in regulatory requirements or by a landowner).
