TMLP County Street
About the Project
As a regional electricity provider, National Grid regularly upgrades its systems to provide reliable electric service to homes and businesses.
To improve electric reliability, the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant (TMLP) plans to build a new substation on County Street, south of the transmission corridor near Johnson Street in Taunton, MA. The proposed substation would connect to National Grid’s existing overhead electric system.
Known as the County Street Substation, the project will provide a new source of electric power to the area using the existing 115-kilovolt transmission lines. This new supply is needed to support growing energy demand and improve electric reliability in the area.
